In my practice I explore the tension existing between the beautiful enticing painterly facade and the unbearable truth of reality, that so often surfaces in blank spaces. In an ongoing both meticulous and playful observation process I let images resonate through me and into oil and ink paintings.

The exposed white canvas plays a central part, as it takes on different roles — a window, a bedside table, a figure - in order to capture the precise moment in which it ceases to be merely ‘surface area’ and resonates, imbued with significance that goes beyond the realm of imagery.

The viewers are offered freedom of engagement, they can simply play as they wish, just wonder and move on, or perhaps even stay and gradually reveal, letting the white be and run its course, or anything in between. I do hope they'll cry.
